Inspections, investigations and checks
In order to check that the work environment is good, workplaces can be visited by an inspector from the Swedish Work Environment Authority. We also do checks of, for example, machines, so that they are safe for those who use them.
We have inspectors in five regions across the country who check that employers live up to the demands made in the Work Environment Act, and the provisions issued by us. If the work environment does not live up to these demands, the employer could receive fines, a penalty, or sanction fees.
