Welcome to the Swedish Work Environment Authority website on posting. If you are going to be working temporarily in Sweden, this site is for you.
Here you can find information about the rules, provisions and laws that are applicable when it comes to posting. In the menu on the left we have listed different areas that are important to you and your employer.
Under the heading This is posting you will find the law concerning posting and the EU Directive.
Under the other headings there is information that both you as a posted employee and your employer must know about concerning the terms applying on the Swedish labour market.

What is posting?
A posted employee is a person who has been sent by her/his employer to another country to work for a limited period of time. If the person has been sent to Sweden, he/she is covered by certain provisions in Swedish laws and collective agreements during the period of employment.

Who is covered by the provisions?
The law on posting is valid for all who come to Sweden. On the other hand, provisions concerning for example residential permits and working permits may differ, depending on your country of origin.
Are you a Swedish citizen?
If you are a Swedish citizen who is going to be posted in another country then you must seek information in the country to which you are going to be posted concerning the provisions applicable there. You can contact the country’s embassy or search for information on the web.
