If the deficiencies are not dealt with
The Work Environment Authority tries in the first instance to persuade the employer to remedy any work environment deficiencies on a voluntary basis. If the employer does not comply with the stipulations in the inspection notice, the Authority can issue an injunction or prohibition, i.e. prohibit a certain kind of handling or a certain operation, or order the employer to remedy the work environment deficiencies which have been described. An injunction or prohibition thus issued by the Authority may carry a contingent fine.
The order shows the time within which an appeal can be made and where. An order of this kind can be appealed by both the employer and a safety delegate.
