Work injury insurance

If you are injured in an accident at work or on the way to or from work, you can obtain compensation from the work injury insurance scheme. The insurance also applies to "occupational illness", e.g. skin complaints following contact with certain substances or back trouble caused by unsuitable working posture. Certain infectious diseases, such as hospital infections and jaundice, may also be regarded as work injuries. If you are injured at work you should tell your employer immediately. The employer must then notify the social insurance office.
